Recently I have been reading about Moses in the Bible. Everything I read surprises me! How much faith would someone have to have in order to walk in front of a countries royalty and tell them exactly what they did not want to hear? Well that is exactly what Moses does, and when he did that the pharaoh decided to punish the Israelites. When the Israelites were punished they became angry with Moses. So now he was not only doing what the Pharoah did not want, but he was also going against what his family the Jews wanted. What would you have done in this situation? Would it have been hard to continue? I don’t know what I would have done, I probably would have given up if I am being honest, but that is not what Moses did. Moses kept going and eventually saved his people. Read the full story in Exodus!
God calls us to take leaps of faith, to speak the truth (the truth is God and what he tells us). “Therefore each of you must put off falsehood and speak truthfully to your neighbour, for we are all members of one body” Ephesians 4:25. This verse is not only meant for our next door neighbours, no not even for just or Christian friends, this is meant for all people no matter what race or religion. We need to grow in our walk with Jesus, but we also need to help other people grow or in some cases help them find Christ.
Sometimes it is hard for me to do this. I struggle with starting conversations even with friends. Even though it is hard to do God calls us to it, and I want to do what God asks. I have not been focusing on this task in recent months or even the last couple of years. I want to take leaps of faith and trust in God, so please remind me if you see me that I need to take these leaps, and maybe starting a conversation with me will also be a leap for you! 🙂
